Sentric and Tileyard sign Ross Hamilton to exclusive songwriting agreement

Tileyard Music announced global publishing admin deal and JV with Sentric in 2020

The first deal to be announced under Sentric Music Group and Tileyard Music’s recently formed JV is the signing of Ross Hamilton to an exclusive songwriting agreement.

Sentric Music Group and Tileyard Music announced a partnership in December 2020 that sees Sentric handle global administration of the Tileyard Music Publishing catalogue, and includes a joint venture for signings.

Hamilton has cowritten Seafret’s 2020 album Most Of Us Are Strangers, as well as Nathan Evans’ latest single Told You So, which he also produced. He has recently been working with Lexi Berg and Izzy Bizu, demonstrating his ability to work across a range of genres.

He co-wrote and produced every Saint Phnx release, including their Atlantic debut, Happy Place.

Hamilton’s side project, Bad Mannequins, were chosen by BBC Introducing to play One Big Weekend. The band also secured a Ray-Ban sync, procured by Sentric, with their track Roller Derby Wrecking Machine.

Hamilton has also worked on many high-profile TV programs including The Grand Tour (Amazon) and the recent DeLorean documentary (Netflix).

Prior to his songwriter career, Hamilton was a session musician playing for the likes of Mark Lanegan and Isobel Campbell, and Texas. He has also played guitar and bass on records from Sharleen Spiteri, Robbie Williams and Olly Murs.

Hamilton said: “When you’re in the right place with the right people, anything can happen. The vibe at Sentric and Tileyard feels like a place I want to be – independent, tenacious and innovative. A great place to make music.”

Lewis Gale and Calum Morrison of 7a Management said: “Ross is an exceptional talent, with multiple 10,000 hours across different genres and disciplines. We are delighted for him to find a home at Sentric and Tileyard where his passion and ambition are clearly matched. We can’t wait to get started with the team to build his career to the next level.”

Simon Pursehouse, Sentric Music Group’s Global Director of Music Services, said: “Ross is a truly exceptional songwriter/producer. Everything he’s ever sent me sounds like it’d comfortably fit on a whole manner of radio and streaming playlists and, rather excitingly, he has one of the best ears for sync production/songwriting in the business. We all know what he’s capable of and we’re all exceptionally eager to help him fulfil his potential. Also, he’s an absolute dreamboat of a human being, which is a bonus. I’m chuffed to be working with him.”

Charlie Arme, Tileyard Music co-founder, said: “We are so excited to be working with Ross and his managers Calum and Lewis. From the moment we met, there’s been a brilliant synergy. Ross has a proven track record crafting special songs and developing artists and we are thrilled to be his chosen partner to build on that.”
